New Works open at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Taipei

I am thrilled to announce an exhibition of my New Works in Wonderland at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Taipei this week.

Wonderland is a survey of innovative contemporary art emerging from Australia, the exhibition will feature works from 24 artists including- Kristy Boyle, Bindi Cole, Daniel Crooks, Anna Davern, Alex Davies, Julie Dowling, Matthew Gardiner, Matthew Gingold, Chris Henschke, George Khut, Fiona Lowry, Jasmine Targett, Jess MacNeil, Jon McCormack, Cath Robinson, Julie Ryder, Kuuki (Priscilla Bracks, Gavin Sade), Kylie Stillman, Josephine Starrs and Leon Cmielewski, Martin Walch and Yvette Coyle.

Shortlisted for Tom Malone Glass Prize

I am excited to announce that Life Support Systems, has been shortlisted for the Tom Malone Glass Prize!Life Support Systems, 2010

A little about the prize: the Tom Malone Prize was initiated in 2003 by Benefactor of the Foundation of the Art Gallery of Western Australia, Elizabeth Malone, and is intended to promote the creation, appreciation and enjoyment of glass made in Australia. Each year, $10,000 is awarded to the winner and the winning work then becomes part of the State Art Collection at the Art Gallery of Western Australia.

In a break with Tom Malone Prize tradition, 2011 will follow 2010’s travel format and see judges travelling to meet with short-listed artists in their studios. Judging will happen by studio visit between 28 February - 5 March 2011.

Life Support Systems: New Works

Here is a little sneak peak at some of my new works...
Life Support Systems discusses data and monitoring of the Earth's Atmosphere as collated by EOS- NASA's Earth Observing Satellite. EOS is a primary information source for the tracking of the Ozone Hole over Antarctica. Click over to the Gallery Page for more new works.

Grant Recipient

Such exciting news! I have been very lucky to receive a 2011 Creation of New Work for an Emerging Artist Grant from the City of Melbourne. The grant will fund the creation of works for the research project Life Support Systems. Life Support Systems is based around a series of works that discuss scientific data, monitoring and imagery of the Earth's ozone and atmosphere as collated by NASAs EOS satellite. Once created, this work will be exhibited in late 2011.
