Curious Opulence, Architecture Gallery, Monash University

CURIOUS OPULENCE
Hand Blown, Cut and Polished
Dichroic, Silvered and Mirrored Glass.

Special Thanks to Nadia Mercuri
Head of Hot Shop at Monash Uni Glass

Curious Opulence was my graduate installation from Honours in Fine Arts at Monash University.

The work was comprised of
sculptural components exploring optically impossible and complex spaces that the modern notion of the atom quantifies. These hand blown, mirrored and dichroic glass objects were unique prism-like spherical fragments of a Baroque nature. Each fragment held a visual connection to the other alluding that they had all once belonged to a greater whole. The final installation Curious Opulence created a situation for the human eye to investigate the dissolvability of form and obscurity of perception.
