Hand Blown, Sandblasted, Mirrored and Dichroic Glass, 2009.

A series from the Inside the Realm of Invisible Spheres Exhibition, that worked with the notion of cells. On the microscopic level, cells apear as bubbles, floating, contained & regulated. When you zoom out and look at the shell of the cell, or rather the human from which it has come, there is a rupture- as though through magnification we are yet to fully understand the relationship between the interior and exterior, the outer and inner, the micro & macro cosmoses of the self & the universe.

This was a series I worked on for the 'Inside Realm of Invisible Spheres' exhibition. At the time I was fascinated by the modern notion of the Atom and how little we know about its make up. I started playing with microscopic and macroscopic structures that exist as the fabric of nature and the universe.

Hand Blown, Cut and Polished Dichroic, Silvered and Mirrored Glass.

All components change colour depending on the position of the viewer in relation to the object. For example, in the image below, the Gold/Orange glass, shifts to a Blue, while the Blue changes to a Pink and the Violet to a Green. Depending on the surface the objects sit on, they reflect and refract light, changing colour through out the day. At night time they glow.
